Can you tell a fir from a pine? An ash from a maple? Tree blindness, especially conifer confusion are common maladies, but this course will cure you! Riverside Park is known for an abundance of great fall color, and seeds, nuts and fruit offer new clues for identification at the end of the growing season. You will learn how to use all of your senses to identify trees by their bark, leaves, flowers and seeds plus interesting stories about their history and uses.
Suggested Reading: Trees to Know in Oregon by Ed Jensen, available at OSU Extension Offices.
Field day is easy (easy-going walking with frequent stops).
Ages 12+ welcome.
